# How To Identify What Is Really Blocking Your Progress In Life

Have you ever felt like you are working hard but still not getting anywhere? You are putting in the effort. You know you are capable. And yet, something keeps you feeling stuck.

When this happens, most people reach for the same solution. They try to work harder. They take on more. And when that still does not move things forward, they start to wonder if the problem is them.

But in my experience, feeling stuck is rarely about a lack of effort. It is usually a sign that something is out of alignment somewhere, and no amount of pushing harder will fix it until you find out where.

The challenge is that most people cannot clearly see what is actually blocking them. They feel the frustration, but they cannot name the cause. So they keep applying effort to the wrong thing, which is exactly why nothing changes.

This is the reason I created the **6P™ Transformation Model**. It looks at six specific areas that quietly determine whether real change happens or not. When someone feels stuck, the block is almost always hiding in one or more of these areas. And once you can see it clearly, you finally know where to focus.

Let me walk you through the six, so you can look honestly at each one in your own life.

The first is **Purpose**. This is your internal motivation, the real reason behind what you are doing. A lot of people feel empty despite their success because their work is not connected to anything they genuinely care about. They are chasing goals that were handed to them by others, or working hard to prove something rather than to build something that matters to them. If your effort is not tied to a reason that feels true to you, it will always feel hollow, no matter how much you achieve.

The second is **Place**. This is your physical, mental, and social environment. It is easy to underestimate how much your surroundings shape you. Think about the workplace you spend your days in, the home you return to, and the people you spend the most time with. If any of these are draining you or pulling you off track, they can quietly hold you back, even when you are doing everything else right. Sometimes the block is not inside you at all. It is in the environment you are trying to grow in.

The third is **Practice**. This is your daily habits and routines. It is worth asking whether the things you do each day actually reflect the person you are trying to become. Many people say they want one thing but spend their days doing something else entirely. They say they want to be more creative, but their evenings are spent scrolling on their phones instead. They want to grow, but their routines keep them exactly where they are. Your daily actions either move you towards your goals or quietly work against them.

The fourth is **Perception**. This is how you interpret challenges and setbacks. Two people can face the same difficulty and respond in completely different ways. One sees a setback as useful feedback. The other sees it as proof that they are not good enough. If your inner story turns every obstacle into evidence against yourself, it will hold you back far more than the obstacle itself ever could.

The fifth is **Paradigm**. These are the unconscious beliefs you carry about what is possible for you. They are the quiet rules you live by without ever questioning them. Beliefs like "success requires constant sacrifice," or "people like me do not get to deserve that." You may not even be aware these beliefs are there. But they shape your decisions from the background, often keeping you within limits you never actually chose.

The sixth is **Persona**. This is the identity you are stepping into, and whether your daily actions reflect the person you are becoming. Someone might want to be a confident leader, but still act like the junior version of themselves in the room. They defer. They seek approval. They hold back. When your actions are anchored to an old version of yourself, it becomes very hard to grow into a new one.

When you start looking at your own situation through these six areas, the picture becomes a lot clearer. Instead of just feeling stuck without knowing why, you begin to see the actual reason behind it. For instance, maybe your work is not connected to anything that matters to you. Maybe your environment is draining you. Maybe your habits are pulling in the opposite direction to your goals. Maybe an old belief is quietly limiting what you allow yourself to pursue.

It is also worth knowing that these areas often overlap. A single block in one can quietly affect the others. For example, if your Purpose is unclear, it becomes much harder to build daily habits that stick, because there is no strong reason behind them. Or if an old belief is limiting what you think is possible, it can shape how you interpret every setback along the way.

This is why simply fixing one surface-level habit rarely solves the deeper problem. The real shift comes from seeing how these areas connect and finding the one that is holding the most weight.

And this matters, because you cannot fix a problem you cannot see clearly. When you do not know what is holding you back, all you can really do is push harder and hope it works. But once you know exactly what the problem is, you know where to put your energy. You can make a focused change instead of just trying to do more of everything.

This is why working harder so often falls short. The truth is, you are already doing 100% of what you are capable of as the person you are right now. You are not lazy and you are not failing to try. You are already maximising your current ability.

**But your current ability is not the same as your potential.**

And you do not reach your potential by pushing harder. **You reach it by becoming more than who you are right now.** That is what working on these six areas actually does. It helps you grow into someone capable of more, rather than demanding more from the person you already are.

So if you have been feeling stuck, burnt out, or unclear about why your progress has stalled, it might be worth stepping back from the effort for a moment.

Instead of asking how you can do more, **ask which of these six areas might be out of alignment for you right now.**

That single shift in focus, from doing more to understanding what is actually in the way, is often where real progress begins.
